Help again, just noticed the fridge is about 60 and the freezer probably 50. the coils have a small amount of frost. The freezer fan above the coils is not running and I do not hear the compressor. Unplugged for a minute then plugged in, no change. FYI...Changed out the defroster and t stat a few months ago with a successful fix. What now. Thx, Steve

Today.....3 days after the above post, I came home to find the freezer cold, and the fridge is cool. All is well. Any ideas?

Here your parts includes a wiring diagram.

The below is just a guess!!

Since unplugging the unit did not reset/restart the unit I would look at the main control thermostat, could be it stuck open.
If unplugging it has restarted it then I would lean towards the adaptive defrost board.

If/when it happens again just move the control thermostat (warmer/colder not to off.
If the unit fires up then I would replace the thermostat.

It is not that uncommon for this to happen.

The cold control should click when turned off, if not, you have a bad cold control
If ok, I would drop the control panel and tap on the adaptive control, might be sticking. Also, look for burnt wires.

I just changed out the temp control assy with no effect. No compressor noise. Selected off then 6, no change, no click when selecting off. No change when I unplug it and plug it in. Any ideas?

I am assuming that the condenser/compressor fan and the evaporator/freezer fan are also off. Also that the fidge lights work.

Unplug the unit and the two wires for the thermostat (not the ground wire) and short the thermostat wires together. Tape them up so that they cannot short to anything else.

Now plug the unit in.

If the fans and compressor do not come on then it is either the adaptive defrost board or a wiring problem.
