I have a GE refrigerator model# GSL25IFRF BS. The water dispenser has stopped working.
I have seen a few websites that offer a few possible causes for this problem.

My question is , if I remove the water filter inside the fridge (the one that gets changed every 6 months) and depress the water dispenser, should water come out of the filter area inside the fridge? I am not putting the plug in, just taking the filter out and trying it. Water is not coming out of there in my case although water seems to be going into the filter if I attach it...at least it seems to be. Also seems to be a lot of pressure when I remove it.

I have seen where people suggest putting a weed wacker line up where the water is suppose to come out of the dispenser to see if the line is frozen. The line only goes in about 2 1/2 inches before stopping. I don't know if this is an indication of the line being frozen or if there is something else that prevents the line from continuing. This is when I have the dispenser pressed or not.

I am just trying to isolate if the problem is before the filter or after.

Thanks! - JC
