I have a whirpool gold side by side, electronic controls.

Ever since it was new the damper control (on the inside rear wall behind a cover)has been very noisy and sounds like one of
those old defrost tmers. When it turns on you can hear it throughout the kitchen.
pretty loud. Sometimes you hear it for a few seconds then goes off only to come back on
for a few more seconds and stays off for while. I can't believe how loud the stupid thin is

Is it suppoed to be loud?
