Hi,
I am new to this post and am hoping i can find some help. I have a Kenmore refrigerator that is freezing food on the middle shelf. The compressor was not shutting off so i replaced the thermostat, but with the new thermostat it is still not shutting off and is still freezing food. Any suggestions on what i should do next would be greatly appreciated?

Thank you!

Pull the freezer back panel and describe the frost pattern.

Before i replaced the thermostat i did that and there didn't appear to be really any frost. There was no ice build up. I will pull it again, check, and let you know what i find. The fridge doesn't seem to go into defrost, because it runs all the time. One other thing i thought was odd was that the condensate drain pan was bone dry, shouldn't there be water in there?

One thing i was thinking is that when i put in the new thermostat the thermister tube was much longer than the original. So i slid the insulating tubing on the entire length of the thermister and wrapped the tubing along the back upper corner of the fridge compartment. I wonder if i were to bend it so that the end of the thermister was more in the center of the fridge (in the airflow), if that would make a difference. Thoughts?
