Model Number: FRS26LH5DW4 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 1 - 5 years
Hello,
Our ice maker had a little flood the other day, and I traced the problem to a faulty solenoid on the water inlet valve. No problem. I searched around to find one just like the existing part, and bought from here. The faulty part had threaded connections for the water lines that are screwed on and off. The part I bought from APP's store depicted the same threaded connections, but the one I received has quick-connect compression fittings. Obviously, the tips will not fit into these, and I've seen a few other sites that say to cut the tips off and pop 'em in. I really want to cover this base perfectly, because once I cut, there's no going back. I do not want to replace every water line in this thing. Are there such things as little adapters that I can screw the lines into, and then push those into the water valve? This it the part: Part Details - FRIGIDAIRE VALVE-WATER, part number: AP4298908 As you can see, it has threaded connections in the image. As opposed to what I received. That's not an issue, as long as I know without a doubt that cutting the tips off is the correct answer. Or, I would prefer it if there's a way to screw on a little adapter somehow, so I can avoid doing something I can't go back from. It would also be better having an adapter if I do have to change a line, since once I push the hose in there, if I try to remove it it will destroy the coupling and make the part unusable. So not only would I have to possibly replace a water line, but I'd have to buy a new $50 inlet valve as well. Thanks. Related Models |
