The corkscrew agitator gets torqued and then starts to come out of the helix cap at the back of the bucket. Once it gets really bound it just hums when the dispense button is pushed. After removing the bucket from the freezer the driver blade in back can be spun by hand so I assume the auger motor is working o.k.

We have been able to get the agitator back in place on the cap and all works fine for a few weeks. Something obviously needs to be replaced but I don't know what's causing the problem so not sure which part is the weak link. I'm guessing ice is getting caught somewhere to throw the agitator out of alignment.

Any thoughts?
