Unit works fine except heavy frost builds up on low side Freon line from compressor to case and melts and drips on floor when unit cycles off.
Noticed a fill port has been installed on this line, Would a improper Freon level cause this. I have proper equipment to service this but cannot find factory specs on unit.

Somebody overfilled the fridg with refrigerant. Best to lower the level before damage is done to the compressor.
If the model # plate shows R134A refrigerant, you can open up the line tap on the compressor tubing till the frost level backs away from the compressor.
Be careful not to release too much refrigerant. The gas is rather inert, not hazardous.

Released a small amount of Freon at the line tap and will watch unit as it cycles to see if more is needed. Thanks for the advice, will keep you informed of the results.

Be careful here, if the unit will not completely defrost, that will cause the frost line to get extended and you will release too much refrigerant.
