The door dispenser for ice and water will run continuously and not stop.

I noticed a problem last weekend when I came home to water on the floor and the ice box empty figuring out that while I was gone the dispenser had turned on, emptied all the ice cubes and turned back off. The dispenser light remained on and would not turn off even if the light on/off button was pushed. I fidgeted with the ice dispenser door and side door switch which tells the freezer whether the door is open or closed and was able to get the light off and the dispenser to stop running.

This lasted almost a week without issue until today when it started malfunctioning again. I took a glass to the dispenser for ice but when I pulled a way the ice kept dispensing. I tried to switch to water but then water kept dispensing. I could only get it to stop if I opened the freezer door. Once I played with the ice dispenser door and side door switch again I got the dispenser to stop but the light remained on again like before. The light on/off switch wouldn't work but after pushing the control lock the light went off. It now seems like it is working ok but I know there is something wrong and it is only a matter of time before it happens again.

This seems like an electrical issue but I am not sure. Has anyone experience this issue before? Anyone know what the problem might be? What can I do?
