Hi folks,

I have an 8 year old Whirlpool GS6SHAXKQ01 side by side. For awhile now, every few days I catch a little puddle near the front freezer. At first I thought one of the kids was spilling some water/ice (or maybe me :)) ....

After this happened 3 or 4 times about every 3 days or so, I'm guessing it's water dripping from the defrost cycle?

I looked underneath, the pan is right there and seems to be in the correct place.

Is there a way to force the defrost cycle so I can watch the water drip down? My assumption now is that it's either missing the pan, or overflowing the pan. Is that a safe assumption? If I can trigger the defrost cycle, I can watch for sure.

Thanks much!
