My wife and I purchased a Frigidaire Professional April, 2013. After a couple months in operation the Ice Dispenser door would open and close right away (similar to a camera shutter). I removed the dispenser mechanism and saw nothing out of the ordinary, in reviewing the post I decided to lubricate the moving parts, still it would not remain open, I than proceeded in removing the solenoid, after having removed the two screws that hold it in place but not yet removed the solenoid I moved the mechanism by hand and noticed it moved more freely. The solenoid did move a little but was still set in place so as to not fall out. I tried working the dispenser with the two screws removed and it works like a charm. It appears as though the little movement in the solenoid allows it to aline and not jam.
