I have an ER IF error code which means the icemaker fan is not operating properly. The usual cause is icing of the fan which requires taking the bottom freezer panel off and chipping off the ice. Instead, I used a hair drier on the cold air duct. Seemed to work but problem came back.
The error code is intermittent. For no apparent reason, the LED panel will light up and the panel indicates everything is OK. The ice-maker fan blows cold air for about 10-15 seconds; then stops for the same amount of time. This repeats itself 3 or 4 times, then the error code reappears.
I concluded it was a problem with the control board and replaced it. Same problem with new board. Jiggling the wires seems to have no effect.
Any suggestions?
