Refrigerator & Freezer Repair

First of all the refrigerator is not in the country so a technician would be of no help. The freezer is icing up. What could be wrong or needs repair. I think I need the control adaptive - defrost. Please advise.

Try to force a defrost cycle (see tech sheet), if it defrosts then I would replace the defrost board Item 12 in the "Machine compartment" section.

If it does not defrost then the heater and the defrost thermostat should be checked with a meter to see which is blown. If bothe are OK then it is either a bad connection or the defrost board.

You did not say what in the freezer was icing up so I am assuming it is the evaporator coils.
