Ice maker not getting water. I replaced the water valve, still nothing. I was getting a squirt of water into the ice maker cube mold, but now that signal has stopped being sent to the valve. Could that be the ice maker itself or could there be a main control board issue?

Do you have good water pressure to the water dispenser? If not the water filter would be the first thing I would look at. Just go ahead and replace if it is over 6 months old or you can try the bypass plug (came with refrigerator to bypass the filter).

If you don’t have water pressure at the water dispenser and you rule out the filter look at the water pressure coming to the refrigerator from your pluming.

If water pressure is good at the dispenser check to see if the tube that feeds water to the icemaker (inside the freezer) is filled with ice. If this is the case remove the ice and you should be ok since you already changed the water valve.

If you find none of these to be your issue replace the icemaker itself.

Thanks. I've already ruled out the pressure, filter and ice blockage issues. So even though the ice maker rotates to flip out any cubes, it still sounds like the unit itself is my problem after all.

Does your icemaker have a switch and a light or just a mechanical slide to turn it on and off.

If it has the switch and light it is electronic. If this is the case turn it off and wait 30 seconds. Then turn it back on and push in on the paddle three times. See if it runs water at the end of the cycle then.

If not I would say the icemaker is bad.
