We have a 4 year old Whirlpool fridge that stopped working. We cleaned out the condenser coils with no success. Next after much research I replaced the start relay and both the fan and compressor were working with the compressor getting warm and the fan running to cool it but again the freezer nor the fridge compartments would work. I called in a service tech who instructed me that it was the start relay and tried to sell me a more expensive start relay combination unit that may solve the problem but also told me it may be a short in the compressor, I declined.

Any assistance with this problem would be appreciated before we decide to go out and by a new fridge:(
