Water dispenser display assembly does not work....there are no lights, does not dispense water or ice. The fridge and freezer still works and the lights also.

I have changed display assembly to no avail!
I have also changed main/mother board to no avail!

I had one guy look at it and he thinks the wiring internally that runs to the display assembly has shorted in the back of the fridge and it's too costly to try to repair. He suggest buying a new fridge.

Please help.....
