I have a real problem here.. Couple of weeks ago, Water would not stop filling into the ice maker, Unplugged then plugged back in, Then, Water WOULD NOT fill the ice maker.. OK, Though Water inlet valve, replaced it with a new one.... Worked great for about a week or so, then last night, I heard water running again out of the fridge! It was coming out behind the freezer door onto the floor, I opened it and sure enough.... the water was just free flowing out of the ice maker.. would not shut off again. I had to turn the valve off where the water comes into the fridge and it stopped.
My question is, Is there a water level sensor that could be bad in the ice maker itself?? What tells the water to "shut off" in the actual ice maker? I just replaced the inlet valve in the bottom rear of the unit so Im kinda ruling that out as being the problem now. Highly unlikely a new one is bad with the same problem as the old one.where do I go from here? Is there another part inside the ice maker itself that i can check? or should i replace the ice maker unit itself?
Thanks in advance!!
