Kenmore ice maker is producing bad tasting, smelly ice. The fridge was here when we bought the house in 2012 and we don't have the manual. I am guessing the fridge is 5-10 years old, but I'm not sure. Its s/n: 12446963CR.

Ice bucket has been emptied and cleaned, but ice still smells and tastes bad. We can't find a filter for the ice maker, so we assume there isn't a filter to change. Too bad.

Anyone have suggestions on how and what to clean so that the ice is usable?

Thanks very much,
Liz
