A few weeks ago my Frigidaire freezer over worked itself and everything was frozen to the max. I actually had icicles in the freezer. That eventually went away. Now, two weeks later, my freezer is warm and the fridge is also. The fan in the freezer works but its not cold at all. I turned the defrost timer until it clicked and nothing happened afterwards. The compressor is warm, but not running at all. The relay clicks every ten minutes or so. I took the freezer back off and the coils weren't frozen one bit.

Is it the compressor, the defrost timer or the thermostat?...

Cannot say, you need to do more troubleshooting.
Also your post is a little confusing.

Is the condenser/compressor fan running?

Not sure what the above means, could you please give more info.
When you force a defrost cycle the compressor, the condenser fan and the evaporator (freezer) fan should all turn off. This then means that you are in a defrost cycle. The unit should remain in defrost for about 30 minutes and then all the above should turn back on as you re-enter cooling mode.

I am assuming this is the current condition of the unit.
Is the condenser fan on?
It is wired in parallel with the compressor so whenever it is on the compressor should be on.
Also you said the compressor is warm but not running so I assume you mean that it is not vibrating.

Below is a link on how to check your compressor windings etc.
If they check out OK for continuity and are nor grounded I would try a new start device.

No. The condenser fan is not running at all. Neither is the compressor vibrating. But the compressor is warm. Regarding the defrost timer, I turned it until it clicked and then turn it a little more to take it out of defrost mode. I read about doing this in another thread, thinking my fridge was stuck in defrost mode. The current condition of the my fridge is; nothing is working except the evaporator fan but its blowing warm air. My fridge and freezer are both warm, no cold air whatsoever. I hear a clicking noise from the relay every few minutes, like its trying to turn the compressor on or something. But the compressor isn't responding. Sorry for the confusion.

Check across the condenser fan to see if it has 120 volts.
It should be on since the evaporator fan is on.
If not, odds are that you have a wiring problem .

I have received the relay. I'm having trouble getting the red/blue wire from the fridge connected to the new relay.
