Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 5/6/2013(UTC) Posts: 4		Refrigerator starts with a clicking sound, runs for awhile then trips the GFI it is plugged into???? A service provider replaced the capacitor once before, could it be the same issue?

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 7/24/2007(UTC) Posts: 2,277		It is not recommend that you plug refrigerators into GFI outlets to start with. I would check the start relay on the side of the compressor. If that is ok you may have a faulty compressor.

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 5/6/2013(UTC) Posts: 4		Appliancejunk, Thank you for your input...I should clarify something, the frig is not plugged directly into the GFI outlet however, it is on the same circuit as a GFI, and it is popping that GFI...I'll check the starter and capacitor. Any other thoughts?

In less than an hour, the GFI had popped and the compressor was so HOT that I couldn't even touch it...any thoughts?
