I have a Sub Zero Freezer with an Ice-maker that is malfunctioning.
Earlier this week I found that the ice tray had filled with water and frozen into a solid block rather than making cubes.
I pulled the freezer racks out and ran the ice making cycle to see if I could check the operation and two things stood out.
First the u shaped aluminum tube at the bottom of the unit was extremely hot (found that out the hard way).
Second, after the "fingers" made their full rotation and the water fill came on - the water dumped out of the back corner into the freezer (and would have fallen into the ice cube tray had it been there).
I'm assuming there is a blockage somewhere and that this might be the entire problem, but I thought I'd get some informed opinion before trying to remove the ice-maker and clear it myself.
Any suggestions?
