Just replaced the starter relay & capacitor on the compressor. When the unit is plugged in there is a chatter (sounds like a fan blade rubbing) coming from the compressor that lasts between five and ten seconds before the compressor starts up. The relay/capacitor p/n WPL 67005560 is the APP recommended replacement for this refridgerator. Once the compressor starts the chatter stops. This is not the same "clicking" sound the previous bad relay made. It makes this noise every time the compressor cycles on. I am concerned that the compressor or new realy could be damaged if the unit is allowed to run in this state. Is there a chance that the new parts are not really correct for this model or any ideas of what could be going on?

Look for a loose wire near the compressor. If none,it's possible the new start device is bad.
What was wrong with the old start device?

I had to replace the original relay because it had gone bad; i.e clicking and not starting up the compessor. I checked the wiring to the new relay as you suggested and reseated the relay and capacitor several times. The noise I am hearing when the compressor tries to start is more of a tinny sound like you would hear if the coils are vibrating against the drip pan or a fan is rubbing against sheet metal except it seems to be coming from the compressor/relay. I let the refer run for several hours and it is cooling but now seems to be constantly recycling to start the compressor similar to what it was doing with the previous bad relay just with a different sound. I will contact APP and see if they will send me another relay and hopefuly that will fix the problem.

If it fails to start during peak power usage times, you probably have a hard starting compressor.
