Dear Tigerpaw.
It will help a lot if you'll post the model number of the fridge. Simon.

Hi.
Regarding the frost in the freezer. Check the freezer temperature it shouldn't be much below 0 F*.Adjust if needed. Make sure the door gasket is intact, the frequent opening of the door may cause the frosting. Some produce left in the freezer for long time will frost up eventually. Regarding the drain. Defrost and clean the drain, pour hot water in it to make sure it's open, then install the drain heater kit Part number: 819043 That should help. Simon.

Could also be large temperature swings in the freezer.
Put a bowl of ice cubes in the freezer. Leave it for a day or so. If they end up all frozen solid together then the freezer is getting too warm. Stuff is melting creating water vapor which then condenses on the freezer walls when it re-freezes. Can be caused by a bad main control thermostat. Or by the defrost thermostat not shutting off the defrost heater when all the frost has been removed from the evaporator coils.
