ice maker will not fill with water. how to I troubleshoot if it's the ice maker, the thermo switch, etc?

hi.
For a starters fill up the icemaker with water manually and see if it'll make ice. If it does, then check the water inlet tube above and if it's frozen defrost it and replace the water inlet valve.
