Model Number: RS2533SW/XAA Brand: Samsung Age: 5 - 10 years
I own a 2003 Samsung RS2533SW/XAA refrigerator. The bimetal thermostat (part #DA47-10160H) and the defrost temp. sensor (part #DA32-00006W) are wired into the same connector in my older model. In other words, one connector plug for both parts. Samsung changed this feature on the newer versions of this refrigerator, selling the defrost temperature sensor as a separate component with its own connector plug. In other words, these parts are sold separately each having its own connector plug. Since there is only one female connector plug in my older model refrigerator, I am unable to connect these dual new parts to the single female connector inside the freezer. Also, the new connector plug for both of these components doesn't snap into the old female connector inside my freezer because neither one fits. My only option is to splice the wires of the two new componets (thermostat and defrost sensor) to the existing wires of the old connector. A class-action lawsuit has been brought against Samsung for these ongoing problems in the freezer section, such as new parts not working with the older model refrigerators, faulty heating coils that cause ice build-up, etc. If anyone can find the older version of the combined bimetal thermostat/defrost temperature sensor wired into a shared single connector, I'd greatly appreciate it.
