I have side-by-side GE fridge (2004) - do not have the model # w/ me.

It stopped making ice. I turned the maker on/off and no change. I removed the ice maker and storage bin and defrosted the freezer for 4-5 hours. I replaced the maker/bin and turned the unit on and did get a shot of water, then nothing. When turning the unit on/off I would con't. to get a shot of water. I turned the freezer back on and waited until the next day - no cubes in the bin. The green light was blinking, so I turned the unit off/on - it started to work and eventually ejected the cubes, but that was it - it did not make any more cubes, and turning it on/off did not result in any more water. What next?
