Refrigerator & Freezer Repair

My freezer stopped making ice. Now it is getting warmer and warmer. I can keep it at 28 degrees by turning it up to 9. There is frost on the back of the freezer inside .The refrigerator is doing the same thing. At 9 it is 38 degrees? Any help would be really appreciated !!

Check the freezer coils for heavy frost. If so there are four things that can cause this and they are the defrost heater (very common), the defrost thermostat, the evaporator themistor, and the main board.
