Model Number: ERDB1251 Brand: -brand- Age: More than 10 years
HAVE A SMALL 11.7 CU FT EXCELLENCE BRAND REFRIGERATOR WHICH IS NOT FROST FREE. WAS GONE 2 MONTHS & WHEN I RETURNED EVERYTHING WAS FROZEN IN THE REFRIGERATOR SECTION. I RAN A TUBE DOWN THE DRAIN PIPE & THERE WAS NO BLOCKAGE. I DEFROSTED THE FRIG TWICE. i SET TEMP CONTROL AT DIFFERENT LEVELS & AT 1 SETTING (WARMEST SETTING), THE FRIG WAS 19 DEGREES & THE FREEZER WAS -19 DEGREES. I RAN A CONTINUITY TEST ON THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL & IT WAS FINE. THERE IS NO PANEL TO REMOVE IN THE FREEZER, & NO HOLE FROM THE FREEZER TO THE FRIG TO BLOW COLD AIR. IN FACT I CAN'T FIND AN EVAPORATIVE FAN ON THIS FRIG. THERE IS A PANEL IN THE BACK WALL OF THE FRIG, & THE TEMP CONTROL DIAL IS ON THE INSIDE WALL OF FRIG.
I WONDER IF THERE ARE PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THIS 24 YR OLD EXCELLENCE BRAND FRIG. ANY SUGGESTIONS WHAT TO TEST NEXT, & WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE? THANK YOU Ads By Google Related Models |

was wondering if you could help me with troubleshooting this Excellence frig (please see first post for details & what i tested to date) because right now i have no frig that is working right. there is a plastic piece/cap that fits over the upper R back of the frig which is about 5"Lx 3"W, & about 2" deep just below the freezer---is this where an evap fan would be housed? thank you!

was wondering if you have any ideas about troubleshooting the excellence frig cause right now i have 2 frigs & neither are working properly. there is a plastic cup closure over the back of the frig (about 3"w x 5"l x 2" depth just below the freezer on the R side back of frig)---could this be where an evap fan motor would be housed? i don't ever recall hearing or feeling a fan motor blowing inside this 11.7 cu ft frig.
there is no panel to remove in the freezer but there is a panel in the top back wall of the frig & i imagine that's what has to be removed. I RAN A CONTINUITY TEST ON THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL & IT WAS FINE. any suggestions what else to test? this is not a frost free freezer. would attach a picture but don't know how to get it in a url. thank you!
