Model Number: GSS25QGTA BB Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
Hi, I was working on my ice maker, The spring came off the flapper that turns off the ice. I unplugged the ice maker before unplugging the frig. Very stupid I know. The lights works when I open the doors. the ice maker light is on, the ice maker screw turns when I press the button. the water works fine The frig wont turn on and start cooling.
I repair computer motherboards for a living so I know about electronics I just need to know what to check. Could my control board be bad or is it a sensor problem? Thanks in advance. Ads By Google Related Models Last edited by WarFox101 : 02-20-2013 at 03:14 AM. |

Update: The frig works fine now except the fan on the inside of the freezer is not spinning. I tested the control boards j2 connector, pin 3 and 8 and got 12v DC. I also tested pins 3 and 4 and got 12v DC. Am I right in saying I have a bad evaporator fan? Also I tested the defrost thermostat and found no resistance so I found the problem there. Any thoughts or second opinions? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
The main control board is bad. I'm not sure which part did you call "defrost thermostat". Is it the overtemperature thermostat (#240 at the diagram)? If that is correct and the continuity test shows it's open, then it will cause the refrigerator not defrosting. - The main control board Part number: WR55X10942 - The overtemperature thermostat Part number: WR50X10069 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for GE GSS25QGTABB Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.
