My bottom mount freezer is frosting/icing up on the rear wall. I read one post about troubleshooting starting with the defrost timer but I am not sure how to disassemble to get to it. Can you tell me how to get instructions or something?

Take out one screw, holding the light cover in the refrigerator section. You will see the defrost timer Part number: 67001036
Part number: 67001036

Thanks. Unfortunately it is above the panel holding the lights but I figured it out.

Hi.

Next you should check defrost thermostat Part number: AP4009073
Part number: AP4009073

And defrost heater Part number: 67002135
Part number: 67002135

Check both for continuity using the multimeter. Remember the thermostat must be ice cold when checked.
Both parts located behind the rear panel in the freezer.

Simon,

Today I completely defrosted the freezer and installed a new defrost thermostat. I did not check the heater wire and I hope it does not come back to bite me. So far the freezer is working great, I just have to give it time to see if it will frost up again.

Thanks much for your help, I'll keep you posted.
