Dispenses crushed ice but not cubed....is it the solenoid? The motor only turns in one direction.....if so is it accessible thru the front tray?

Hi.

The access to the motor is from the inside of the freezer door. Locate the motor cover under the ice shoot, remove two screws holding it, next remove 4 screws holding the motor.
Here are the breakdown diagrams and Motor and Ice Container parts for Whirlpool KSRP25FNBL00 - AppliancePartsPros.com

Thanks, I removed the 2 screws but do not see the other 4 that you speak of....do I need to pry off the motor cover to expose them? I tried that but found the cover very hard to remove and m afraid of cracking the housing.

Thanks, I removed the motor and measured the presence of 120 DC on the rd/wht br/wht wires when running crushed ice but no voltage across those same wires when switching to cubed ice. I don't think it's the motor now. I think it's the rectifier or what ever switches the polarity to the motor. Any ideas or suggestions?

Also, I removed the brn/wht red /wht wires from the terminal that goes to the motor and reversed them thinking I'd get the motor to give cubes when requesting crushed ice but still I get crushed ice and no cubes...this is not what I expected....any ideas?

Hi.

If you taped down the freezer door switch while testig then most likely you need to replace the dispenser control board

Part number: W10184871
Part number: W10184871

Good luck.

Post the results.

Hi.

If you look at the outside bottom edge of the frame you should see two small slots.
Use flat screwdriver to pry the frame off and then lift it out.Use the towel to preserve the door from scratching.

Unplug the fridge while working on it.
