Model Number: Classic Series SxS Brand: Frigidaire Age: More than 10 years
Replaced Freezer Thermostat recently but the Fridge and Freezer won't continue to cool after 2 days. It will work perfectly the first couple of days, but then the temperature will rise to 50 degrees in the freezer and 60 degrees in the fridge.
The compressor will cycle fine but will not get any colder. When we unplug it for a few hours it seems to re-set and the unit will work perfectly for another 2 days, but fail to maintain the proper temperatures again a couple of days later. When it is working perfectly the temperatures in the fridge is 38-40 degrees and in the freezer 10-15 degrees. The unit is about a 1994-1996 model. Please advise. Hi Tom,
I would suggest to replace the compressor start components. - The relay kit Part number: 5304468029 - The run capacitor Part number: 5304464438 If it would not help then probably the compressor itself is bad. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for Frigidaire FRS26H5ASB5 Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.
