GE Ice maker not working
Ice maker in GE fridge is not working, I replaced the water solenoid valve and still no water to the ice tray. Then I filled the ice tray up manually with water, but the water froze, but did not dump the ice. There is the arm under the ice maker, but even if I move it back and forth the ice maker still does not fill with water. The green light is on and is not blinking.
When I removed the water solenoid I was not sure how the wires went back on. From the wiring diagram is looks like the red connector goes the red solenoid, with the orange wire on the outside of both solenoids. I already dump $30.00 for a new solenoid, I don't mind spending the money for a new ice maker, but I want to make sure. Is there anyway to activate the ice maker manually to see if the solenoid is working. If it is not the ice maker or the solenoid, what else could it be? One more thing the water in the door dispenser works just fine.
The temp in the fridge is fine. I just replace the water filter, and the line going to the ice maker is not frozen.
Does the water going to the ice maker run through the water filter? To me it looks like the line goes directly from the solenoid to the ice maker.
Ice maker part no: WR30X10012
