Default Test continuity of condenser starter relay
Model Number: Ed22qfx   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
I'm guessing my starter relay switch on my refrigerator is out but I'd love to make sure the old one is bad before I buy a new one and replace. Problem is I'm a novice when it come to checking for continuity. Any help here on where to place the probes on the switch would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a two pin, black ptc device, remove it and check resistance between the round compressor pins, should be between 5 and 10 ohms.

Looks like previous owner had 3 in 1 starter put on. Do you think that could have gone out or probably killed the compressor? I'll try and check the compressor - not positive how but will search. If its still good would I just remove the 3in 1 and put the starter kit on as directed or do I need a capacitor? Did the 3 in 1 replace a capacitor and now the starter kit also needs one to work? Sorry for all the questions but the 3 in 1 threw me.

The 3 n 1 probably blew out the compressor windings.
Is the compressor warm, or cold. If warm, but not vibrating, you might wnt to install the correct start device, but it might just be a wast of money.
