Model Number: GLHS38EESB1 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years
Well I hope this thing isn't cooked. It is our backup fridge in the garage. Cooling was really hit for miss for about two weeks. It would cool down great then a few days later we would check and it is 45F in the freezer! We thought maybe kids were getting in and out and not closing the door all the way.
Now it does not seem to cool at all. I pulled it out and the coils underneath were caked with crap. So I cleaned those out with an air compressor. There is also a thin copper line that was caked in a thick layer of ice. Picture of that below. I have a multimeter and such but don't know enough of what is what under there to properly test anything without some direction. The fan does work. I can't tell if the compressor is coming on. It isn't making any noise as far as I can tell. Fridge model, date, etc sticker: http://i.imgur.com/AccWo.jpg Compressor model/info sticker: http://i.imgur.com/GyH6x.jpg Strange frozen line. This is a LOT less ice than was on it before. I defrosted the line clean and then this is how much built up in about 45 minutes of running: http://i.imgur.com/Z5ihZ.jpg Any help is appreciated. I'll be happy to post more pictures or whatever is needed to diagnose. Ads By Google Related Models |

Hi.
According the picture ether is a sealed system problem (restriction). You need to call a pro and start saving $$$. Would be wise to ask them to give you an estimate on the phone. Simon.
