Hello,
We have an Amana ASD2624hes side by side. This morning we noticed that the water dispenser wasn't working, then a couple hours later noticed several additional issues:

• top of freezer is warm and everything thawed, but bottom of freezer works and kept items frozen
• both the meat and veggie drawers on the bottom of the refrigerator side had all of the items frozen solid
• water doesn't work still (assume line is frozen since it runs through the bottom) but the ice does run and push out

The fridge is only about 6 years old, and we just had to buy a new Amana dishwasher (bought at same time) that failed 6 weeks ago, so I'd really prefer to not spend additional money on a repair or replacement. Do you have any suggestions on how to assess the problem, and is this likely a DIY project? We've replaced items including a disposer, axle on a riding mower, etc. so feel somewhat comfortable. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi.
You need to check if the evaporator fan motor is running.
Remove the rear panel in the freezer and check if the motor is getting 120 VAC.If it does - replace the motor

If there is no voltage at the motor, check if the defrost thermostat has continuity. Replace it if open
