My refrigerator does not get cold enough even when the temperature was changed from the recommended settings to colder settings. The freezer does not freeze food or make ice even when the temperature was changed from the recommended settings to colder settings. I removed the front cover on the bottom of refrigerator where filter is located and removed the dust. The filter did not need to be changed. Initially when this started we were having a heatwave across the country. Heatwave is long gone and still have these problems.

Hi.

First check if the condenser and evaporator fans are running.
Then remove the rear cover in the freezer and check how the evaporator coils are covered with frost. If the coils are covered only partially - there is a sealed system problem and you need to call a pro.

Service tech determined that I need a new compressor. I don't understand why a compressor needs to be replaced immediately after 5 years of normal use.
