Default Compressor overheats after a very short while
Model Number: GMR05BLTBSC   Brand: GE   Age: Less than 1 year

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

It is a minifridge. I have owned it for less than a month. After the first week I realized that it stopped cooling and all I would hear were clicking noises. I tried to move it to a different spot and use another wall plug, thinking that may be it's just a faulty wiring in the wall. To no avail. I then did a search on the net (how I found this site) and saw this thread (clicking noises back GE Refrigerator.

I decided to isolate the issue and after a few days noticed that if I unplugged the fridge and let it cool for about a day and then plug it back in it would start running again for about an hour. Freezer would cool and form some ice and the fridge itself would cool as well. Then it would just stop running. Everytime this happened I would check the back and notice that compressor would be very hot. I mean that when I touch it after a couple of seconds I can feel it starting to burn my hand.
I don't know if there is a fan inside the assembly or not, but I can't hear one running at all. The fridge does have quite a bit of space on the back between it and the wall and the room it's in stays fairly cool most of the time.
Any suggestions?
Thank You.
regards.

Your compressor is bad, overheating and shutting down on it's thermal overload.
