I have a 19 year old Amana side-by-side refridgerator that began malfunctioning last night - all symptoms began at the same time.

Symptoms:

- cooling from bottom only - both fridge side and freezer side. Top of fridge is about 50 degrees; bottom seems about normal. The crisper trays are very cold. Sodas at the bottom of the door have some ice crystals in them. Air doesn't seem to be circulating. Both temp. knobs are set to mid-range.

- freezer is much the same; ice melted in tray. Food is defrosting at top, still frozen at bottom. The wall separating fridge/freezer is very cold at bottom, not very cold at top.

- fan at back of fridge runs continously.

- compressor is warm.

- water dispenser stopped working (frozen?).

Is this some sort of air circulation problem? The condenser grills were a little dirty but not excessive.

Any and all help will be be greatly appreciated.
