Model Number: 253.44123802 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a Kenmore 253.44123802. My fridge will not go into defrost by itself. It has a new termination switch and a new control board already.
I was able to force it to go into defrost mode (pushing buttons at control panel) and it defrosted great. The termination switch opened in about 15 minutes and all is dandy. After 10 days of running the fridge, I see no indication that it ever went into defrost by itself. The holding pan underneath was dry. I had put a piece of paper cardboard there and checked 5 times per day for the past 10 days. A co worker mentioned possibly a thermister, or a defective control board. Where is my thermister located in my fridge? There is no diagram of its location anywhere online. Thanks.. Ads By Google Related Models |

Here are your parts
Parts for Kenmore Refrigerator 25344123802 - AppliancePartsPros.com Here is the tech sheet http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodin.../297115300.pdf Since you can force the unit into a defrost cycle I would say that it is a control board problem.

According to the pdf diagram, the thermister should be located by the control board? I looked in there but can't find it. LOL! (next step-probably have to trace the color coded wires to find it).
Have a wonderful Christmas Mr. Denman, and thank you for your answer. |
