I have a 6 yr old Amana side by side that quit making ice last week and melted the ice cream. I put a thermometer in the freezer and watched it get progressively warmer - 11 to 15 to 21 degrees. I called a sketchy repairman who replaced the condenser fan b/c it wasn't working. The temp decreased slighty, but then started back up. Same man came out this morning (freezer now 38 degrees) and diagnosed low freon. Temp went down, but is still not below 21 degrees. SO, now $270 later I'm wondering if I need to be shopping for a new refrigerator. Any thoughts on this problem??? Thanks
