Hello, new to this site. I am having a problem with my 3 year old GE bottom freezer fridge. Today I noticed a clicking noise coming from the back of the fridge. It sounded like it was coming from where the board is. The compressor, at least I think that is what it is, is trying to start but it can't/won't. I unplugged it for a couple hrs to make sure that nothing else would be damaged. I plugged it back in and it still does the same. I saw a thread about the mother boards going bad but I didn't see my model listed so I wanted to make sure that I am chasing the correct problem.

Can I leave it plugged in or am I better off leaving it unplugged?

Thanks

Anyone?? I've had the relay on the side of the compressor tested and it tests fine. I'd like to make sure there is nothing else left to check before I order a new mother board.

Check for 120 VAC at the connector "J7-9" wire to terminal "J8". If there is no proper voltage then the main control board is the culprit.
