Model Number: GSS25JFPA WW Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
I have GE Side by Side refrigerator, the water dispenser stopped working and and then the refrigerator section food gets frozen (but at a higher temperature!), fridger works but frosts develops at the back.
This was happening for a while and I had to manually defrost and then it would work for a couple of months. 6 months back I called a technician and he cleaned up the ice from the coil and changed the thermostat. He also mentioned that the circuit board could be bad but he could not say until he replaces it! It started happening again so yesterday I looked at this forum and mustered enough courage to open up everything and cleaned up the ice from the defroster, then I tested the thermostat and the heater with an ohm meter and both seems to be okay. Checked two fridge thermistor and they seem to be okay too. Is the circuit board bad? is there any way to check the circuit board before replacing it? I can open the circuit board but could not find any specs on how to check if the defrost timer is working. Thanks a lot!
