My Maytag side by side Model MSD2456GE cools fine on freezer side but we are having to slide refrigerator temperature control almost to the warmest setting in order to cool properly.

Your model number seems to be missing the last digit.

Sorry but I am confused.
Your title says "Refrigerator side too warm" but in the body of the post you say "temperature control almost to the warmest setting in order to cool properly."
You should be setting the fresh food control to a colder setting.

Make sure that the evaporator/freezer fan is running when the compressor is running.
There should be an air return vent between the 2 sections, make sure it is clear on both sides.
The freezer should be 0 to 5 degrees F. The fresh food at about 40 degrees F.
Check if the compressor runs all the time or does it cycle.

Sorry, I meant that we have to slide refrigerator temperature control almost to coldest setting , not the warmest .
The last digit on model number is B (for Black, I think)
