When the freezer fan is running the speed is constantly varying up and down. Has anybody got any suggestion and how do you access the fan. Thanks for your help.

The fan will change speeds but it shouldn’t change speeds rapidly. If this were the case I would say the main board is but it is possible the fan is bad.

If you have a meter and are comfortable using it you can check voltage at the board.

Locate the main board on the back of the refrigerator. Set the meter to read DC voltage. On the board you should see a plug marked J2. Leave the plug in and push the black lead in pin 3 and the red lead into pin 4. Monitor the voltage it should be either 8V or 12V but shouldn’t change quickly. If the fan seems to change speeds but the voltage stays the same replace the motor and if the voltage is chancing rapidly replace the board.

On the back of the refrigerator there is a square panel on the bottom right hand side. Remove the panel to access the main board.
