I defrosted my freezer and now enen thogh it gets cold it does'nt freeze yet my refrygerator is staying cold what could be wrong

What was the original problem, if any?
Why did you defrost it?

I would check what is running and what is not:
Evaporator/freezer fan?
Condenser/compressor fan?
Compressor? Usually you can hear it running but you should be able to also feel it vibrating and it should be warm. If it is running is it cycling normally or is it on all the time?

It was full of ice, it is running like usual except the outside of the freezer door is cold.

back to answering your questions everything is running as usual, with the exception of the freezer fan it doesn't seem to be blowing very strong.

Check across the freezer fan.
If has 120 volts and is not running at full speed then I would replace it.

If the fan does not pull enough air through the evaporator coils then the unit will not cool properly.
