Hi.
Check if the condenser fan motor is running. Then open the evaporator cover (in the freezer) and check how the evaporator is covered with frost. If it's only small area is frosted then there is a sealed system problem which is probably more expensive than replacement refrigerator. Here are the breakdown diagrams and http://www.appliancepartspros.com/ca...-tbx18kjb.html Simon.

Thanks Simon,
I removed the back of the freezer compartment and the right hand four inches was frozen over. I defrosted it and let it set for an hour. Started it back up and I have 3-4 inches of the coils on the right hand side frosting up now. Are you saying that there is no repair or that it is just too costly? Thanks again. |

Yes, there is the sealed system problem and that is costly.
You need to call a pro. Simon.

Check the nameplate, if the refrigerant is R12, the system can be re-charged with R414B and the system can be checked for leaks, total cost should be less than $100. Might not be worth it as the new units are much more efficient.
