Our freezer is located on the bottom and it keeps defrosting and this causes the refrigerator to stop cooling also. Could this be the main board?

Hi.

You need to provide more detailed information on what is going on.
Have you checked if the compressor and condenser fan motor are running?
Do you hear any clicking sound coming from the compressor area?

Simon.

Yes the fan is running. When it gets ready to defrost it starts to make a buzzing noise. At first we could unplug it for a few minutes and it would be ok for a few days but now it doesn't seem to help.

You still not giving me a good picture of what are the symptoms.
Is the compressor running?
Does the fridge maintain the temperature at all?
Can you locate where is the buzzing sound come from? (Compressor or the control panel.)

Please answer my questions.

Simon.
