Compressor Rattling noise?
Model Number: ET18XKXRWRO Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
Rattling Noise coming from compressor but seems to be working.Thought it might be start relay,replaced that and no help.Did start by on ,off every 10 seconds but now it just rattles now.Is this sign of bad compressor?Very hot motor after 10 minutes.

Remove the compressor mounting clips and tilt the compressor till the noise stops. If this is possible, it can be left that way. If not, only alternative is compressor replacement. The compressor rattle usually will not suffer any damage from this.
