Door Shelf Retainer Bar Not Available
Model Number: CTX21EASSRWH Brand: Hotpoint Age: More than 10 years
HOTPOINT FRIDGE MODEL CTX21EASSRWH
DOOR SHELF RETAINER BAR PART# WR71X2474 My fridge works great, I just need to replace a couple of door shelf retainer bars on the fresh foods door. Well the part is no longer available. I can get the end caps that attach it to the door, but not the retainer bar. I have tried a half dozen sites on the web, Amazon, and E-b-a-y. Anyone else in this situation? Anyone got a solution? Anyone else in this situation? Anyone got a solution?
Yes I had this on the beer fridge at the lake. I got a wooden slat cut it to length and pre-drilled holes through the support brackets and the slat. Then installed it with a couple screws. I also gave it a couple coats of paint before installing just so it would be easy to clean. If you wanted to get real fancy you could use an aluminum bar and the drill and tap the ends. Are there a "universal" replacement? Not that I know of.
