My kenmore elite side by side is no longer working. Two weeks ago, the coils in the freezer froze up. Took the kickplate off and cleaned the coils then defrosted the coils in freezer. Started working fine for about a week, then one morning it just stopped running period. It gets power, as the lights come on when plugged in, but the compressor does not come on. Could it be the defrost timer?

Here are your parts
Parts for Kenmore Refrigerator 10650793000 - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

The unit does not use a timer it uses a adaptive defrost circuit board to control te defrost.
I am assuming that the fans also do not come on.
Yes, it could be the adaptive defrost board, see below.

Have you tried unplugging the unit to see if it will reset?
I am assuming you let it stay like this for at least half an hour just to be sure it was not in a defrost cycle which should last about 20 minutes.

Hi - Yes, it's been left unplugged overnight with no results the next morning. The fans do not come on. The only thing that works are the lights. Since I know it's getting power, I thought it may be the defrost board or the controls as it doesn't work past that point, but also was planning to check the start relay as well. Just not sure if the compressor would come on if the defrost board or controls were out, If that makes sense.

Since the fans do not work my guess would be the defrost board.
The only way to be sure is to get a meter.
Check id there is power across the compressor (red to white), if yes and the compressor does not run then it could be the start device.
Also you would have to check that the thermostat contacts are closing using resistance.
